yes, the ah beng is making his 3rd appearance! the tickets looks more expensive this year :(
thinking of watching this with my parents, it looks like a good laugh; if they are not interested, I'll just have to target guy, kekeke. doubt any friends will be interested...
indeed, the cast of midsummer night's dream delivered all that to a full crowd at fort canning park. a sudden heavy downpour in the evening left us wondering whether the performance would be canceled. but the skies cleared and everyone filled the park, well-prepared with mats and food. sadly for us, we didn't buy any food as planned because we thought it might not be staged due to the wet weather.
it did felt almost magical and the park is a great venue to stage this! although I briefly read the plot beforehand, I wished that I knew it in greater detail before I watched the performance. was kinda lost with so much going on and literally, everywhere. I think my neck is slightly strained from shifting around to wherever the action was, hehe.
saw gurmit singh there too, his family was sitting just in front of us!
I'm happy, or rather, I should be happy because it's all over! yet, I'm feeling pretty much the same as any other day. maybe it's tiredness getting to me (again). but it's gonna be great - one load off my mind permanently and more time to spend!
if you recognize the equation above, chances are that you have laughed yourself silly at Broadway Beng Returns too! Sebastian Tan is really good and entertaining. I watched the phantom musical recently in Apr and his take on it was hilarious, not to mention the scaled-down chandelier. it is a must-see for people who understand Hokkien else one might feel lost on most part of his act. oh, I saw Chua En-Lai at the theatre too!
looking forward to A Midsummer's Night Dream this weekend and hoping that the weather is good for that day.
